The Impact: Directly supports our flagship community events, specialized student research fellowships, and talent pipeline initiatives. This model is ideal for organizations looking to engage with world-class UC Berkeley talent or elevate their visibility within the public interest cyber and AI security ecosystem.

Examples:

• Cyber Civil Defense Summit Reception Sponsors ($15K): Spark social and brand engagement with our growing network of people and organizations that are strengthening community-minded digital resilience. 
• CLTC Discovery Partners ($30-50K): Invest in a public affiliation with CLTC, with recognition across the related publications, webinars, and social media activities of our PIC, AISI programs, or first-in-the-world UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic, while infusing research capacity through direct investment in our student employees, projects, and research fellows.  

In each instance, $10K is reserved for CLTC operations, with the remaining $20K–$40K held directly to support one or two Fellows conducting Public Interest Cybersecurity or AI Security Initiative leading-edge research, or direct student team-client engagements at the UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic. (e.g., bolstering our work securing the cyberresilience of reproductive rights organizations). Industry supporters also receive resume books from the top-ranked UC Berkeley Masters of Information and Cybersecurity program. 

The Impact: Resources a dedicated thematic initiative, new pilot project, or critical leadership roundtable within one of our signature programs. Funding at this tier enables CLTC to bring together global experts to stress-test emerging threat vectors, develop forward-looking playbooks, and accelerate research from theory to operational reality.

Examples:

• Thematic Workshops & Tabletop Exercises (TTXs): Partners can seed or scale specialized initiatives —such as our global AI-Enabled Cybercrime Initiative. Contributions at this scale directly fund scenario-based workshops, stakeholder convenings (such as our recent international exercises in Berkeley, Singapore, and Tel Aviv), and the resulting publications that influence public policy and corporate governance.
• UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic Sponsorships: Directly expand the reach of the UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic by underwriting graduate student teaching positions and/or client engagements.
  

The Impact: Deeply integrated single or multi-year collaborations designed to tackle systemic, complex digital challenges. We work alongside your leadership to scope research and programs at the leading edge of digital security, bringing Berkeley’s academic rigor and network to industry partnerships.

Examples:

• Non-profit Cybersecurity: CLTC’s multi-year collaboration with Okta has driven ground-breaking research and state and regional partnerships to help protect nonprofits from cyber threats and improve Cyber Civil Defense. 
• Frontier AI Policy & Governance: A diverse coalition of funders, including individual donor-advised fund contributors, is accelerating critical research into long-term AI safety thresholds, governance frameworks, and strengthening AI policy at the state, national and international levels.
• Community defense networks: You may also explore co-creating a regional or subject specialty cohort of cybersecurity clinics to address specific client pools (e.g., small infrastructure, nonprofits, or hospitals) through partnership with the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics and/or individual clinics.
  

The Impact: Aimed at individual tech leaders, visionary philanthropists, and core industry partners who want to build permanent, systemic defenses for the digital public sphere. This includes endowing programmatic chairs, funding national policy initiatives, or scaling secure infrastructure globally.

Examples:

• Google Cybersecurity Clinic Catalyst Fund: A multi-year, large-scale partnership with Google.org, administered through Tides Foundation as a fiscal intermediary. This $25M initiative supports the national leadership of the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics and enables the establishment of 25 university-based clinics working to expand cybersecurity resilience for critical public infrastructure and under-resourced community organizations nationwide.
• Cyber Resilience Corps: Strategic support for the Cyber Resilience Corps, a collaborative initiative backed by Craig Newmark Philanthropies and in partnership with ProtectNGO. This work builds a national network of practitioners, volunteer leaders, and community experts dedicated to strengthening local digital resilience and delivering hands-on cybersecurity support where it is needed most.
