Zero Knowledge Proofs for Privacy-Preserving Cryptocurrencies

Cryptocurrencies have the potential to change the way we conduct payments across the globe. However, current systems are “risky” because they do not provide privacy to users; this lack of privacy not only affects individual users but also skews the economic properties of the currency. Zero knowledge proofs have been shown to be one of the main tools to endow cryptocurrencies with suitable privacy, and have been deployed in the real world. This project aims to add new features to libsnark, a leading open-source library for zero knowledge proofs.
