Biography
Sarah is an Engineer & Data Scientist currently studying the Information Management & Systems
masters program at the UC Berkeley School of Information. Prior to attending UC Berkeley, she
studied at the University of Cambridge on an Institution of Mechanical Engineers Scholarship,
before graduating with a First Class Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering. She then
pursued a career working at the intersection of advanced analytics and emerging technologies,
beginning at McLaren where she worked to implement novel machine learning techniques from
Formula 1 into industries like healthcare and energy. Sarah then co-founded two start-ups
exploring applications of these methods within digital media and blockchain analytics, the latter of
which was acquired in 2019 by a London-based data management consultancy. Sarah’s current
research focusses on the implementation of modelling techniques in complex engineering and
societal problems, particularly in the contexts of algorithmic moderation, decentralised artificial
intelligence and digital forensics. Sarah is the current US-UK Fulbright award holder for Data and
Analytics.
