Advanced Encryption Technologies for the Internet of Things and Data Storage Systems
Sanjam Garg, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, UC BerkeleyDaniel Masny, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, UC Berkeley
The main goal of this project is to realize advanced encryption technologies for specialized applications, such as key-dependent message (KDM) or related-key attack (RKA) security. A growing number of applications demand stronger security from encryption schemes than what is guaranteed by the classical encryption methods. This project will provide new encryption technologies that satisfy these more stringent security requirements. More specifically, the research will obtain new encryption schemes that remain secure even when the adversary can get access to some information about the secret key itself.
