Please join us for the official launch of the Cyber Resilience Corps’ Roadmap for Community Security. Community organizations — nonprofits, rural hospitals, schools, local utilities, municipalities, and small businesses — are vital to delivering essential services to the public, but they are often the least prepared to protect themselves from cyberattacks and are often held wholly responsible, leaving them particularly vulnerable to attacks that could disrupt the delivery of essential social and public services.
This ambitious report is the culmination of the first year of the Cyber Resilience Corps. Co-Chaired by the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC) and the CyberPeace Institute (CPI), this dedicated group of cyber experts from academia, nonprofits, industry, and government critically examined the existing systemic weaknesses of community organizations that lead to insecurity and aims to mobilize existing cyber civil defenders, including cyber volunteering groups, private sector partners, experts, and community leaders, to protect community organizations from cyberattacks.
At this webinar event, CLTC researchers Sarah Powazek and Grace Menna will present key findings from the Roadmap Report. A 20-minute panel discussion will follow the report presentation with Cyber Resilience Corps members to discuss the report’s proposed solutions and cyber volunteering groups’ ongoing efforts to support cybersecurity for community organizations across the U.S.
