Video of Presentation by Angela McKay, Microsoft

On November 3, 2016, the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity hosted a lunch seminar with Angela McKay, Director of the Government Security Policy and Strategy team within Trustworthy Computing at Microsoft.

In her role, Ms. McKay focuses on driving strategic change, both within Microsoft and externally, to advance trust in the computing ecosystem. She leads Microsoft’s public policy work on cybersecurity, cloud security, and norms, and on public sector use of cloud.

Her presentation, entitled “Digital Transformation and Trust,” focuses on the challenges related to cybersecurity in the global context, particularly given the different actors, objectives, actions, and impacts involved with this issue. “I’m very encouraged to see programs like the one here at Berkeley that are looking at cybersecurity not just from a technical point of view, but from a real multi-disciplinary point of view,” she said. “And I love the long-term part…. It’s very difficult to understand how innovation is going to change our lives.”
