Systems and Operational Resiliency Policy (SORP) Intern

Position Description
The Systems and Operational Resiliency Policy (SORP) section is responsible for establishing the policy framework for business technology risk management for supervised institutions. The section promotes a financial system that is operationally resilient and ready to tackle cybersecurity risks, safeguard systems and critical financial infrastructure, and address emerging technology risks. The section provides supervisory oversight and implements a national program for the largest service providers.

The section intern will provide support to section Officers, Manager, Program Managers, and staff responsible for the development and implementation of policies for IT, cybersecurity and operational resilience.

Duties include:

  • Conduct analysis of cyber/IT policy data and issues;
  • Support development and implementation of section outreach and communications plans and products;
  • Research and analysis of topics of interest including, but not limited to, cybersecurity frameworks, cyber threat intelligence, fintech, cloud computing, and emerging issues;
  • Support section administration, budget, communications, records management, and knowledge management activities.


Minimum Education Level: Student

Position Requirements
Minimum Level of Education Desired: College Junior

Skills Required:
Effective communication, organization, planning, business analysis, quality assurance, research analysis, MS Office Suite

Key competencies:

  • Passionate about working to enhance IT/cybersecurity policy in the financial services sector;
  • Strong research, analytical, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge and experience with IT topics and risks, and existing cybersecurity frameworks, guidance and best practices.
