Salesforce Platform & CRM
Our Research & Insights intern will focus on either Salesforce Platform or CRM:

Salesforce Platform – Our Salesforce Platform Research & Insights team provides the building blocks for our Cloud product suite. As part of the Platform team your work can span across all our product areas including automation, AI, adoption, engagement, admin & developer tools, employee tools, privacy, security, data management & more! You will be advocating for the needs of various users focused on many of our user types, such as developers, architects, team leaders, and system administrators who set up the tools and processes. Your research insights will help the product teams build the right tools for the right people.

Salesforce CRM – Our CRM Research & Insights team provides a unique lens to the Sales and Service Cloud businesses through conducting insights-driven discovery research, championing a customer-centered product development approach and driving adoption understanding. This full cycle research approach encompasses both our value to our customers and the impact of our efforts on the experiences of our users. You will learn about and help advocate for Sales users trying to connect with their customers and Service users providing customer support across a variety of industries that are meeting customers where they are.


  • Drive the complete research process and collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, Marketing, and Engineering to generate actionable insights

  • Creating thorough design of experiments, utilizing the scientific method, performing statistical analyses, and visualizing information

  • Organize and conduct research activities that lead to better products

  • Cleverly deliver research findings with strong recommendations cross-functionally

  • Own and drive research initiatives from the start of your internship to demonstrate a tangible impact on Salesforce products and experiences


Minimum Education Level: Student


  • Pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in the area of Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive, Behavioral, Experimental or Industrial Psychology, or Human Computer Interaction (must be attending a University in North America). Please note, to be eligible for an internship, you must be returning to school for at least one quarter/semester after the internship is completed.

  • Working knowledge of user research methods (e.g., usability testing, interviews, heuristic evaluations, contextual inquiry, task analysis) and experimental design

  • Familiarity with basic statistical methods concepts and methods

  • Strong project management skills

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills

  • Interest in working in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent sense of humor, flexible by nature, comfortable with ambiguity
