IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (Spring)

The IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Intern will be assigned to study specific aspects of Children’s Information Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) program with the goal of identifying ways the assigned area can be improved, in terms of depth of analysis, efficiency and process improvement. The final deliverable is a written analysis of the areas reviewed, with specific recommendations for improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Understand the IT GRC team’s role and functions by partnering with members of the team to understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist the IT GRC Analyst function as assigned and demonstrate complete understanding of the program requirements and processes.
  • After establishing familiarity with IT GRC functions and requirements, review an assigned function in depth, producing a written summary of findings with specific recommendations.
  • Formally present findings to the team and answer questions as appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level: Student

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, IT Audit, IT GRC, or similar area of study
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative
  • Strong writing, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Solid process modeling, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of IT risks, controls, and governance frameworks and best practices is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with IT controls auditing or testing is preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the following will be helpful, but is not required:
    • Integrated Risk Management system, such as LockPath Keylight
    • Ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow
    • HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL/ITSM
