Daniel Griffin is a PhD student at the School of Information at UC Berkeley. His research interests center on uncertainty and contingency in intersections between information and values & power, looking at freedom and control in information systems. He previously served as a co-director of UC Berkeley’s Center for Technology, Society & Policy. Prior to entering the doctoral program, he completed the Master of Information Management and Systems program, also at the School of Information. Before graduate school, Griffin served as an intelligence analyst in the US Army. As an undergraduate, he studied philosophy at Whitworth University.
