Chao Zhang is currently an Associate Professor in the Network and Information Security Lab at Tsinghua University. Previously, he was a postdoc at UC Berkeley from September 2013 to September 2016 where he was advised by Professor Dawn Song. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Peking University in July 2013 where he was advised by Professor Wei Zou and co-advised by Professor Tao Wei. Before that, he received his B.S. degree in Mathematical Science from Peking University in July 2008. His research interests are in software security, system security, AI security, vulnerability analysis (discovery, mitigation, pwn), and malware analysis (detection).
